“Les Amis de la Martinerie” received the visit of Mrs. Georgine Sullivan

The new president of the Fresno-Châteauroux sister cities committee, Mrs. Georgine Sullivan, daughter of a US Air Force colonel, took some time to visit “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire” on the La Martinerie site, during her stay in Châteauroux.

Very enthusiastic about the tour, she really enjoyed our exhibit dedicated to the presence of the US troops in the cities of Montierchaume and Diors between 1917 and 1919, and the part devoted to the training of the first American pilots, in 1917, on the La Martinerie base.

She admitted becoming very emotional while visiting our two rooms dedicated to the presence of the US troops in the Indre department between 1951 and 1967.

The signature of our guest book concluded this meeting.
