Traditionally held at the Corlay lake, kindly loaned by the president and the members of the Châteauroux-Déols UNC, “les Amis de la Martinerie” fête champêtre was finally held in the Saint-Août village hall due to bad weather conditions.
Following Roland's request, Mr. Nicollet, mayor of Saint-Août, kindly lent us their beautifully renovated village hall. For this, we thank him sincerely.
Despite a change of date and some absentees, the number of participants was the same as last year. We were pleased to welcome some new faces. The regions of Brittany, Lyon, Paris, and many others were represented at this convivial day. At the aperitif time, we were able to appreciate the presence of Gil Averous, former Minister of Sports, Mayor of Châteauroux and member of the association since its creation, who congratulated us on the excellent work carried out by Les Amis de La Martinerie. He told us that we were now a must-see in the tours offered by the animators of the Châteauroux Métropole Tourist Office
The president also took some time to thank Maxans Lelièvre, who just completed his civic service, for his excellent integration and for the tremendous work he has done for the association. He presented him with a gift and expressed his hope that he would soon find a position within the Ministry of Education. While thanking all the members of the association, Maxans announced his decision to become a permanant volunteer with the association.
