At the age of 16, Joseph and Raphaël, two young men from the Indre department, decided to enroll at the Bourges Military Preparatory Technical School (EMPT).
They signed nine-year contracts; the first two years are fully funded by the Armed Forces to allow them to earn a vocational baccalaureate, after which, following three months of military training at Saint-Maixent, they will serve their country as specialist non-commissioned officers.
The contracts were signed within the Indre department’s military heritage museum, managed by the "Friends of La Martinerie" association, in a flag room steeped in history.
Association member Daniel Jalu, a former student from the 6th intake of the Issoire school (whose missions were largely taken over by the EMPT), was present to share his experience as a technician, while Jean-Jacques spoke about his time as an instructor at Issoire.
It was a wonderful morning in a prestigious setting, one that we hope will lead to further signing ceremonies.
We wish Joseph and Raphaël every success in their careers and thank Chief Warrant Officer Auboin, head of the Châteauroux CIRFA (Armed Forces Recruitment Center), for the trust he has placed in our association.
