A successful general assembly

The general assembly of “Les Amis de La Martinerie” took place in Châteauroux, on Monday February 6, 2023, in the Barbillat Touraine hall, in the presence of 112 members, 74 power of attorney and a dozen of partners.

Comforting figures for the members of the association's board of directors.

After welcoming the attendees, the president mentioned the names of all the members who passed away since the last general assembly and, in a common tribute, associated them with all the soldiers, members of the gendarmerie and police forces as well as the members of the emergency and fire services.

He then, individually thanked the local representatives and the partners present for this general assembly.

Before starting his report, the president expressed his satisfaction to see the presence of 112 people in the room and the fact that he received 74 power of attorney, which demonstrates the confidence of the members in their association.

During his report, the president qualified the year 2022 as being a record year for the association:
ico-vrai the number of contributing members: 459 as of 31-12-2022 (constantly increasing since the creation of the association.);
ico-vrai a record number of visitors: 860 in 2021 – 1460 in 2022 (1/3 individuals and 2/3 groups – These number does not include the many visits from members);
ico-vrai the record number of news: 58, more than one per week, which demonstrates the vitality of the association;
ico-vrai the number of days open to the public: 72, excluding scheduled visits for groups or associations;
ico-vrai the significant increase in financial donations (from individuals and companies).

He took advantage of this report to honor the volunteers of the association and delivered, on behalf of the prefect of the Indre department, a letter of congratulations to Philippe Soulé, host of the association's website.

The secretary took the microphone to discuss the association’s many activities (internal and external) including the hosting of partner associations, groups of visitors, participations in partnership with other organizations but also the work carried out either by Châteauroux Métropole or by volunteers, especially all the repair work and the insulation replacement following the hailstorm.

The Treasurer reassured the members about the financial health of the association, which was confirmed by the independent auditor.

In his final address, the president reminded members that they must be the association's ambassadors both to alumni and to companies.

He then mentioned the 2024 Olympic Games and the proximity of the association to the CNTS, which should bring us visitors but will require further improvement of our premises.

A cake prepared AND OFFERED by two members of the association, Frédéric and Sophie Joseph, bakers at Chezal-Benoit, concluded this 2023 general assembly.
