Châteauroux

Coming to Châteauroux for a series of meetings, representatives of the United States Embassy in Paris, Drew Dilts, Ardian Muco and another person, had a break in their schedule and decided to come and visit “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”, on the site of La Martinerie.

Welcomed at the train station by the president, the delegation had an hour to visit the rooms and learn about the presence of American forces, between 1917 and 1919 in Châteauroux-La Martinerie, Diors, Montierchaume and in the Issoudun region, then, between 1951 and 1967, in La Martinerie, Châteauroux, Déols and in the Indre department.

Delighted by their visit "la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire is magnificent and the visit unforgettable", but frustrated by a lack of time, they promised to return with members of the embassy, including cultural officials.
