As planned during their first visit, the students of the Defense class of the Léon XIII middle school returned to la “maison départementale de la mémoire militaire” to deepen their knowledge of the military past of the Indre department.

Five themes were selected as part of this work: The flags – Aviation at La Martinerie – The Americans in Diors/Montierchaume between 1917 and 1919 – The 90th infantry regiment during the Great War – The American base between 1951 and 1967.

Each group was paired with one of our volunteers who helped them in their research.

A first experience for the teachers of the Léon XIII middle school which should be extended to the 2024-2025 school year.
