To discover the Gendarmerie and its professions, without forgetting the duty of memory, is the goal of the Gendarmerie cadets 84 hours SNU (Universal National Service) phase 2 program.
On Wednesday October 23, “Les Amis de la Martinerie” welcomed, for their 3rd day of training, the new 2024-2025 class of gendarmerie cadets of the Indre department.
An engagement that is now a tradition with, in the morning, a flag raising ceremony followed by a tour of “La Maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”.
On our premises, the cadets were able to learn about first aid, transmissions, ranks and to review the verses and chorus of La Marseillaise as well as the basics of close order formation with a reservist gendarme. A flag lowering ceremony closed this training day at La Martinerie
Thanks to Sylvine Smith, choir director and to Alex Richard first aid instructor of the FFSS (French Federation of First Aid Rescuers) for volunteering for the first time this new volunteer presence alongside “Les Amis de La Martinerie” and the Gendarmerie cadets. Thanks to Bruno, Dominique, Frédéric, Jean-Jacques, Marie and Michel, recuring “Les Amis de La Martinerie” volunteers for their investment in welcoming the cadets.
The Gendarmerie cadet association was represented by François Aussourd, Claudie Chrétien and Jean-Jacques Gasset while the gendarmerie was represented by Commander Eric Habasque and Major (cr) Laurent Poilâne.
