Unlike 2024, which took place under a deluge, 2025 took place under brilliant sunshine.
Despite numerous calls from members who were absent due to the long weekend, the memorial mass, wreath laying, and commemoration of the Battle of Camerone were well attended.

With Eric LAMBERT, president of the Legionnaires of the Indre department, we had the pleasure of welcoming, Florence PETIPEZ Departmental Councilor representing Marc FLEURET president of the departmental council and Gil AVEROUS President of Châteauroux Métropole, Lieutenant-Colonel DRAPEAU Departmental Military Delegate accompanied by Captain EURIN, his deputy, Lieutenant-Colonel CIVIT representing Colonel FAUGERE commanding the Indre gendarmerie group, Mr. José FIGUEIREDO-GONCALVES representing Mrs. Delphine GENESTE, mayor of Déols, as well as the mayors, or their representative, of the municipalities of Diors, Lucay le Mâle, Mongivray, Montierchaume and Neuvy-Pailloux.

Several presidents of patriotic associations were also present, accompanied by their flag bearers. Didier Thiery, president of the flag bearers, was also present with 14 of his comrades, always loyal to our association.

In keeping with tradition, a reception, hosted by the Legionnaires and “Les Amis de La Martinerie”, allowed everyone to gather and reminisce.

At the beginning of this reception, the president wished to thank the authorities, participants, speakers and volunteers of the association, in particular Father Loïc JAOUANET, Priest of Déols, Christian BARON, Mayor of Diors, Marie HETZEL, Eliane LAMBERT and Robert STEFFER for the preparation of the chapel and the organization of the religious ceremony, Mrs. Odile GILBERT and the members of the choir of the parish of Sainte Marie de Déols, always faithful to our event, Eric LAMBERT President and the Legionnaires of the Indre department (and neighboring departments), for their confidence in our association, Didier THIERY president and 15 of the flag bearers of the Indre department, always faithful to our side, without forgetting all the volunteers who invested themselves to prepare this event whether for the cleanliness of the site, for the reception, for the organization of the ceremony or for the reception offered jointly by the legionnaires and “Les Amis de La Martinerie”, Bruno for the organization of the ceremony, Antoine, Dominique, Jean-Pierre, Jonathan, Martial, Roland, Yves, Xavier, and their spouses, without whom none of this would be possible.

Some participants took advantage of the ceremony to visit “La maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”.
