La Martinerie

Accompanied by Raymond Ferragut, their local cousin, Patricia, born on the base, and her sister Dani, from Sacramento, were visiting La Martinerie to follow in the footsteps of their now-deceased parents.

After touring the rooms dedicated to the American military presence, Patricia wanted to see the hospital area where she was born during the American era, and particularly the only building still standing, the dispensary.

Their mother, born Roberte Marina Couturier, was employed in the mess hall; their father, Daniel, present from 1962 to 1965, was a signalman and worked in building 421.

Their wedding was celebrated on September 21, 1963, in the base chapel.

Thanks to Raymond Ferragut for his trust.
