Disappointed because they were not able to save a Quonset hut (A lightweight prefabricated structure occupied by American troops during the “tent city” period) due to a storm, volunteers from our association recovered several parts of the structure and decided to rebuild a hut to regroup objects from the American era.
The idea appealed to Châteauroux Métropole elected officials who decided to help the project by paying for the concrete slab required for the structure.
Thanks to Jean-Marie Locciola, architect and Yuksel Célik, project manager, the application for a building permit has just been submitted. The BAYWA r.e company has already decided to support the project by financing part of the construction of the building.
We now have to find a few partners to complete the financing of the project.
