Created in 2008 by Michel Blanchandin, former IT employee, the goal of the AECBA was to maintain contacts between the former civilian employees on the US base (Anciens Employés Civils de la Base Américaine) of La Martinerie-Déols between 1951 and 1967.
Due to the ineluctable diminution of the number of adherents due to aging, the AECBA’s board of directors has decided to disband the association. Accommodated by “les Amis de La Martinerie” for the last 4 years, and because they wanted to transmit and preserve their heritage (numerous items, various photos from the Delinot studios …), the members of the AECBA accepted the proposition made by Ms. Françoise Lavenu, their president, and other members of the board, to leg their entire collection to “ les Amis de La Martinerie”.
“Les Amis de La Martinerie”, represented by its president, accepted the proposition while reassuring that the members of the AECBA will always be welcome at “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”.
This proposition was acted by the signature of an agreement between the two associations, an agreement mentioning, among other things, that if “les Amis de La Martinerie” had to be disbanded, all the items and documents from the AECBA will be donated to the city of Châteauroux archive services.
